Do I need to see a Speech Pathologist?

Generally, if you or someone else has concerns about your child’s development, then ‘yes’. Booking an initial consultation allows you time to discuss your concerns and to work out if an assessment is necessary. This can be commenced during the initial consultation if it is clear that this is the best way to proceed.

Where are you located?

I have two locations where in-clinic services are offered.

Yackandandah – 76 Back Creek Rd. A great location for clients who may need outdoor space sensory breaks, or who need a relaxed non-medical environment.

Wangaratta – Wangaratta Paediatrician Rooms, Docker St, Wangaratta.

I currently provide mobile services to Albury-Wodonga, Myrtleford, Beechworth, Wooragee and Corryong and am able to travel to other locations. Please contact me to discuss your needs.

What does a Speech Pathologist do?

A Speech Pathologist is a health professional who helps people with speech, swallowing, language, literacy and social interaction difficulties. Speech Pathology can be provided to anyone of any age. It is particularly important in the first 6 years of life, but can benefit people at many different life stages.

Am I able to claim services through Medicare or private health insurance?

Possibly – your private health insurance needs to have extras cover for Speech Pathology.

You may also wish to discuss your eligibility for a chronic health care plan (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care Plan) with your child’s GP. This allows you 5 Medicare subsidised visits.

Are you a registered provider for the Better Start, Helping Children with Autism and National Disability Insurance Scheme?

I only see NDIS plan and self-managed clients.

What if I want a team-based approach?

Some people may believe that a team-based approach towards their child’s development is only possible if they receive services from a larger organisation.

I work collaboratively with a range of other health care professionals and have partnerships with therapists that include Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Social Workers.
